The first session is a gentle starting point. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions you may have about working together. Finding the right therapist matters. The free 20-minute consultation offers a chance to ask questions about me and therapy, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of how working together might feel. There is no pressure to commit. The call is an opportunity to explore whether this space feels supportive for you.
-
Not at all. Art therapy is always optional and does not require artistic skill or experience. When used, creative processes can offer another way of exploring thoughts and emotions, but many clients work primarily through conversation.
-
People often reach out with experiences such as anxiety, life transitions, grief, identity exploration, relationship patterns, creative blocks, or a general sense of feeling stuck or disconnected. You don’t need a specific label or diagnosis to begin therapy; just a sense that something in your life could benefit from support is enough.
-
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I do not provide formal psychiatric diagnoses. If you require documentation or a diagnostic assessment for insurance, workplace, or medical purposes, I can help you explore appropriate referral options.
-
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of therapy. Everything shared in session is kept private, with a few legal and ethical exceptions required by Ontario law. These will be reviewed together before beginning ongoing work.
-
You don’t need to arrive with a clear problem or goal. Many people begin therapy with only a sense that something feels unsettled, overwhelming, or ready for change. We can begin there and allow clarity to emerge over time.
