Getting Started

Beginning therapy is a thoughtful step.

Step 1 — Consultation

We begin with a free 20-minute consultation. To schedule your consultation, you’ll be invited to create a simple account with your contact information. This helps keep things organized and allows you to easily book, reschedule, or cancel appointments when needed.

This is not therapy, but an opportunity to meet and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

During this call, we’ll briefly discuss:

  • What brings you to therapy at this time

  • Any previous therapy experiences

  • How I work, including relational and optional art therapy

  • Practical questions about scheduling or structure

You’re welcome to ask anything about the process, about me, or about what therapy here might look like. There is no pressure to decide immediately.

Sessions are offered Tuesday–Thursday, with some evening availability.

Step 2 — Orientation Session & Consent

If we decide to proceed, you’ll receive intake and consent forms through a secure client portal.

Before beginning, we review:

  • Confidentiality and its legal limits

  • Virtual therapy considerations

  • Scope of practice

  • Cancellation policy

  • Crisis resources

  • Session rhythm and expectations

  • What you’re hoping for in terms of your well-being

You’ll have space to ask questions about consent and boundaries. Therapy begins only after forms are completed, and we mutually agree to move forward.

Step 3 — First Session

Our first full session is a gentle orientation to working together. We may begin by settling into the virtual space, noticing the body, and arriving intentionally. From there, we’ll explore what has brought you here and clarify your hopes for your well-being.

Early sessions often focus on:

  • Understanding current concerns

  • Discovering or clarifying intentions or goals

  • Noticing patterns in the present moment

  • Establishing a rhythm that feels sustainable

If you’re interested in art therapy approaches, we may introduce them as they are always optional and paced collaboratively. There is no expectation to share everything at once! We move at a pace that allows trust and understanding to develop over time.

Step 4 — Ongoing Work

Therapy may be brief and focused around a specific transition or question, or it may become a longer-term for deeper reflection and integration. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly. We’ll periodically revisit your intentions and adjust the pacing as needed. This is a collaborative process. I bring steadiness, attention, and care; you bring your lived experience and willingness to explore. Over time, meaningful change unfolds through consistency, reflection, and relationship.

If this process feels aligned with what you’re looking for, you’re warmly invited to begin with a consultation.
